Tennessee Real Estate Commission
The Tennessee Affiliate Broker Examination is the entry-level real estate licensing exam in Tennessee. An "Affiliate Broker" in Tennessee is the equivalent of a salesperson - a licensee who works under a managing or principal broker. The exam is administered by PSI on behalf of the Tennessee Real Estate Commission (TREC) and is a computer-based, closed-book multiple-choice test with a national portion and a Tennessee state portion. Candidates must complete 90 hours of Commission-approved pre-licensing education (60 hours of Basic Principles and a 30-hour Course for New Affiliates). The state portion focuses on TCA Title 62 Chapter 13, TREC rules, agency law (RECAD), and Tennessee disclosure obligations.
